Zavikon Named To Fast Company’s Annual List of the World’s Changing Ideas Companies for 2022

For the past twelve years, Fast Company has been recognizing businesses and organizations that are working to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. The list honors companies that have not only survived in the past year but also used their challenges to create a lasting impact. These companies went beyond simply surviving; they flourished, impacting their industries and culture as a whole.
This year, Zavikon, an LA-based startup has been selected as an honoree for the 2022 World Changing Ideas Awards! The workplace category was won by Zavikon as an honorable mention.
Zavikon, an employment agency whose mission is to solve the unemployment / underemployment outcomes for neurodivergent individuals and those with disabilities, employs an innovative approach to educating and supporting companies as they incorporate neurodiversity and disability hiring into their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs.
The Summer 2022 issue of Fast Company (on newsstands as of May 10, 2022) featured some of the world’s most inventive entrepreneurs and organizations addressing global concerns. A panel of prominent Fast Company editors and reporters chose winners and semifinalists from a field of over 2,997 entries covering transportation, education, food, politics, technology, health issues, and more.
Zavikon was founded in March 2021 with the aim of changing the world by providing a new model for traditional recruiting firms in the neurodiversity and disability sector. Zavikon is addressing the serious problem of neurodiversity and disability unemployment and underemployment by integrating proven recruitment agency models to form a socially responsible firm.
Zavikon uses a supported model and exploits the power of education to help produce inclusive environments that set candidates up for success. Each new employee is assigned a career coach who advocates for them during interviewing and acclimation with the goal of independence. It is a life-changing event for many people.
However, it extends beyond candidates to include businesses. Those who open their minds, hearts, and doors discover that they too contribute compassion and empathy to their corporate culture, which benefits all employees, employment resources, and bottom-line revenue.
Zavikon’s Founder and CEO, Rebecca Beam, adds, “Working together, we can make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and those who are neurodivergent by providing them with employment that is meaningful and career-oriented. Unemployment/underemployment rates among this population are extremely high, making it both a social justice issue and an economic imperative. We are so honored to be recognized by Fast Company as one of the World Changing Ideas companies for our work in this space.”
As we continue to face unprecedented challenges, it is more important than ever to support and celebrate businesses and organizations that are making a positive impact on the world.
Congratulation to Zavikon on this well-deserved recognition! We can’t wait to see the amazing things you do in the years to come.
