If the user wants to limit access to a room they’re in, the user can simply lock it using the lock button screen. Anyone in the Houseparty room may be able to unlock the room at any time. The user can also turn on Private Mode in the settings to automatically lock all rooms.

Only those who are in the Houseparty room can approve friends before they can join a locked room.

For those who do not need to restrict strangers, users can then jump right away into a call. They can also join other “houseparties” that their friends might be part of, so it’s a lot more fluid than other services which have rigid groups.

Users can also send people facemails. Facemails are video messages that appear as soon as the recipient opens up the app.

Houseparty is Great For Gaming With Friends

A “houseparty” is more fun with games and the app never misses out on this feature too. Some of the popular games which can be played by up to eight people simultaneously are Heads Up!, Chips, Trivia, and Quick Draw. Along with many escape rooms, trivia apps, and online games that you can play remotely with friends, Houseparty has your back and can make the most of your virtual happy hour, turning it into your own comedy hour.

For gamers, it had more to do with Epic Games’ acquisition of Houseparty. Epic Games is the company behind the widely popular game, Fortnite and one of the features loved by a lot of users right now is the integration of the Houseparty app with this game. Users may now be able to video chat with friends while playing Fortnite. The Houseparty video chat app can be used by Fortnite players on PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
