The Greater Los Angeles area has hundreds of colleges and universities, and its total student population number in the millions. Among the most prominent include the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA), University of Southern California USC, California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Pepperdine University, Occidental College (Oxy), University of California – Irvine, Chapman University, and Pomona College.
