10 Best Cigars and Drink Lounges in Los Angeles

10 Best Cigars and Drink Lounges in Los Angeles

Despite the despotic rule of the health buffs, there are still plenty of places in Los Angeles where you can puff on a cigar while sipping an alcoholic beverage.

In Los Angeles, dieting and working out is a way of life. Somehow, the powers that be in LA have made it a crime to smoke in places where usually you can find folks relaxing over cigarettes and beer. Still, it is possible to enjoy a nice cigar and a drink in some secret places, and we can show you where to go.

Best Cigars and Drink Lounges in Los Angeles

1. The Corner Door

12477 Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90066

Hip Culver City bar featuring craft cocktails inspired New American food & daily happy hour specials. It’s okay to smoke your favorite cigars at The Corner Door in the front patio of the bar and lounge, though you have to bring your own. You don’t have to come in to get served either, as they can provide your beer or wine out there while you enjoy your cigar.

2. Hotel Shangri-La Rooftop

1301 Ocean Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90401

Hotel Shangri-LA is the kind of view you can enjoy with a nice cigar and a drink. Just buy your cigar at Lone Wolf nearby, if you don’t have your own cigar. Also, get here early. It’s a popular hangout, and on weekends you probably won’t find an available seat if you come in late.

3. Oldfield’s Liquor Room

10899 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034

Oldfield’s Liquor Room in Palms makes you feel like you’re back in the Prohibition-era. If you’re a cigar smoker, that just seems apt. Fortunately, it’s legal for you to smoke that cigar in their front patio. Just bring your own cigar and your own equipment as well. They don’t have lighters or cutters here either.

What they do have are fine cocktails. Just go in first to order them, then take the drink outside.

4. Caña Rum Bar

714 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015

You have to be a member first at Cana Rum Bar, but you only have to pay the yearly fee to earn the privilege of hanging out here in this nicely dark lounge. They sell cigars here, with a nice cigar menu for you to peruse. Then you also have to try the rum—they have more than 400 of them for you to choose from.

They do have a dress code, but it’s not bad. Don’t wear flipflops, jerseys, and hats, and you’re good to go.

5. Bar Jackalope

515 W 7th St #200, Los Angeles, CA 90014

Some say Bar Jackalope is the place to go in LA for whiskey and a cigar. First, you get your whiskey from the Seven Grand bar. They have a very long menu with lots of options for bourbon, rye, Tennessee whiskey, American whiskey, Seven Grand Single Barrels, unaged whiskey, Canadian whiskey, Japanese whiskey, Irish whiskey, and Scotch (they have a very long list of scotch, actually). Heck, they have whiskey from Australia, Belgium, France, England, Mexico, Taiwan, and Wales.

Once you have your drink, you can now enjoy the bar within the bar that is Bar Jackalope. Just get here early, as it has only seating for 16 folks and standing around isn’t encouraged. You can buy your cigars there, but you can bring your own.

6. Perch

The Edison is a huge underground club, and you can enjoy the cigar from their selection. Of course, you may as well enjoy some nice bourbon or an 18-year old single malt scotch.

8. The Copper Lounge at InterContinental Los Angeles Century City

2151 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, CA 90067

Plenty of local cigar lovers know about Copper Lounge, where you can enjoy your cigar in the “secret” patio outback. You can buy the cigars there, or bring your own. Here you have a wide range of options for your whiskey, and the cocktails are fantastic as well. This isn’t a regular hotel bar at all.

9. £10

225 N Canon Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90212

This place sure is expensive, but then again, it’s Beverly Hills. Ten Pound Bar even charge for cutting your cigar. While some of the cigars cost more than a hundred bucks each, you do have other options with prices that won’t induce a heart attack. Just get a reservation first, as they only accept a limited number of people each night.
